Hello! It's been a while. Lot's of cool things have been happening, and now I'm enjoying a bit of a hibernation. I'm going inward, simplifying my schedule and my life, and making new art. I've also started a blog, and I'd love it if you checked it out. It's at www.bestilldigdeep.wordpress.com. It's about my experiences with art, spirituality, and recovery. If that's your jam, give it a read. I'm shooting for a new post every week.
I will be more committed to keeping this site updated as well, so stay tuned for shows and events and new art stuffs! See you next year! I am still pretty shy about blogging but I'm going to make more of an effort. So stay tuned. In the meantime, check out my art show! It's hanging up for the whole month of March, at St. Mark's Coffeehouse, 2019 E 17th Ave. in Denver. There's a lot of new work and it's called Singing Over the Bones. It's very heavily influenced by an amazing book called Women Who Run With the Wolves, by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. It's an awesome read, so check it. Also remember I'm available for commission work and I have prints for sale! Thanks for looking. More to come!
So my stuff seems to be getting a good reception at Pablo's. I sold a piece in the first week and a handful of prints. I'm getting a lot of good feedback as well, people seem to enjoy it and that makes me happy. This is my first solo show and I'm just glad I got it all together and framed in time. I may even get some commission work out of it. Whatever else happens, it feels good to have set out to do something and see it through to the end. It feels fucking awesome. That has not always been my strong suit. My thing was to start something, find everything wrong with it, shove it under a couch or between some sketch pads...rinse, repeat. Nothing got finished, nothing was good enough, nothing got to see the light of day. I'm so glad I can be kinder to myself these days, start something and finish it and love the hiccups on the way, embrace the imperfections, and end up with something I made and love because I put my heart in it. And then I can show the world and if one other person gets joy from it then I feel like I got extra credit.
The show is going on through the month Pablo's is letting me hang my art up for the month of March. Come say hello! 6th and Washington, Denver CO
